Hey everyone! We’ve got some fantastic news to share with you today. We've been working hard with Piro and we’re thrilled to give you the inside scoop on the latest innovations and improvements we’ve been working on together. If you’re a fan of cutting-edge orthotics, you’re in for a treat!
Piro’s Cool New Developments for the Toe Walking Brace
At Piro, they’ve been busy perfecting their 3D-printed SMOs (Supra-Malleolar Orthoses), and we’re proud to have contributed to some of the incredible updates. Here’s what’s new and exciting:
Right and Left Foot Design
One of the simplest yet most impactful updates is the introduction of distinct right and left foot designs. This change means there’s now a clear indication of which orthosis goes on which foot. It’s a small detail, but it makes a big difference in ease of use for both practitioners and patients.
Stronger plastic, better outcomes
After some trial and error we decided to stiffen the backs of the braces because kids were managing to overpower them. This added stiffness provides better support and helps achieve more effective outcomes. The toe section has also been reinforced for greater durability.
Sleek, New Straps
Straps are an essential part of any orthotic, and we’ve focused on making them as effective and user-friendly as possible. Here’s what’s new:
Color Options: You can now choose from a variety of strap colors, allowing for a bit of personalization and fun.
Thinner and Better: The straps are now thinner but provide excellent leverage, ensuring they secure the orthosis well without being bulky or cumbersome.
Why These Updates Matter
These enhancements aren’t just about making the orthoses look good—they’re about improving function and user experience. By refining these features, we’re helping to ensure that the orthoses provide better support, are easier to fit in shoes, and offer a bit of customization to fit each patient’s style and needs.
